ABB HS840 Head Station For PROFIBUS DP/PA Linking Device LD 800P
Product Description
ABB HS840 is the head station of LD 800P linking device, which is used to establish the connection between PROFIBUS PA segment and PROFIBUS DP network. The device consists of a head station and at least one power link module, supporting full-rate transmission from 45.45 kBit/s to 12 MBit/s on the PROFIBUS DP side.
The core function of HS840 is to serve as a bridge between DP and PA network, so that PA devices can be directly addressed like DP slaves, without the need for additional configuration of head stations and power link modules.
Function & Features
- HS840 supports PROFIBUS DP full rate: 45.45 kBit/s to 12 MBit/s (compliant with EN 50170/2)
- HS840 automatically detects the baud rate on the DP side
- HS840 provides 1/2/4 channel versions, and the 4-channel model supports redundancy
- Each channel of HS840 works independently to shorten the cycle time (4 independent channels are processed in parallel)
- A single channel of HS840 can connect up to 5 power link modules, and each module creates a PA network segment
