Allen‑Bradley 1784-PKTX is a network interface card produced by Allen-Bradley(Rockwell)that can be directly installed into the Peripheral Connection Interconnect(PCI)port of a personal computer.It supports PCI bus version 2.3 and allows the host to connect to Data Highway Plus(DH+),Remote I/O(RIO)or DH-485 communication networks.

DH+and RIO support long-distance communication,and the specific coverage range is limited by the transmission rate.For example,the transmission rate is 57.6Kbit/s at 10,000 feet(3048 meters);115.2Kbit/s at 5,000 feet(1,524 meters);and 230.4Kbit/s at 2,500 feet(762 meters).

For DH-485,the maximum distance that can be covered is 4,000 feet(1219 meters)with a selectable transmission rate of 1200,2400,4800,9600,or 19,200 bits/s.

Module Configuration

Each channel has 1 diagnostic/status LED.

Up to 4 modules per system are supported,specified by jumper configuration.

Driver Development

Driver development can be configured in a variety of ways and is dependent on the operating system.

The module uses the RSLinx PKTx driver to connect to devices on a DH+or DH-485 network.
