MOTOROLA MVME7100 Product Introduction

MOTOROLA MVME7100 is an intelligent embedded computing solution designed for industrial,medical,defense/aerospace and other fields.It uses advanced processor technology and rich I/O interfaces to provide powerful computing power and flexible scalability while maintaining basic investment compatibility with VMEbus and related technologies.

Processor and Performance

Processor:The MVME7100 is equipped with a system-on-chip(SoC)with a main frequency of up to 1.3GHz,such as NXP(or Freescale)MPC864xD,which has dual PowerPC e600 cores and provides powerful computing power.

Memory:Supports up to 2GB of DDR2 ECC memory to ensure data integrity and system stability.At the same time,128MB NOR flash and 2GB,4GB or 8GB NAND flash options are also provided to meet different storage needs.

I/O interface and communication

Ethernet interface:Provides four Gigabit Ethernet ports to support high-speed network communication.

USB interface:Equipped with USB 2.0 controller,it can be used to integrate cost-effective peripherals(only applicable to commercial temperature).

Serial interface:Provides five RS-232 serial connections for easy communication with other devices.

VMEbus interface:Supports 2eSST VMEbus protocol,with a VMEbus transmission rate of 20MB/s(the available VMEbus bandwidth of 2eSST protocol is up to 320MB/s),while maintaining backward compatibility with VME64 and VME32.

Scalability and modular design

PMC-X interface:Provides dual 33/66/100 MHz PMC-X interfaces,which can be expanded through industry standard modules,increasing system flexibility and scalability.

Expansion connector:Supports processor PMC 8x PCI Express expansion connector for expanding PMC-X and XMC using SMART EC.

Rear Transition Module(RTM):The XMCspan MVME7216E connects directly to the Rear Transition Module for I/O routing through the rear of the VMEbus chassis.
