The Allen‑Bradley 1746-HSRV servo module is compatible with the SLC 500 series processors,especially for use with the SLC 5/03™FRN 5.0,SLC 5/04™or SLC 5/05™SLC servo modules.

The module can be programmed for incremental,absolute or velocity movement depending on the application,and is suitable for a variety of automation application scenarios that require precise control.

Technical Specifications and Features

Inputs and Outputs:The 1746-HSRV servo module consists of 3 inputs and 1 output for 24V DC power supply.It provides an analog speed command limited to a position of up to±10V DC.

Encoder Feedback:The module is able to track encoder feedback frequencies up to 300kHz for fast,precise and accurate control.

Module size and weight:The size is 5″x2″x6″(13cmx5cmx15cm)and the weight is about 15 ounces(0.43 kg).

Update time:The module update time is 2ms,and the maximum input frequency of the module is 300kHz when the orthogonal error is 0°.

Heat dissipation performance:The minimum and maximum dissipation heat is 1.5 watts.

Indicator:An LED indicator is provided for error identification and troubleshooting.

Function and operation mode

Absolute position control:Absolute position is controlled using 32-bit registers.

Multiple command modes:Support absolute movement,incremental movement,speed movement,monitoring movement,hold movement,cancel hold movement,mixed movement,emergency Multiple command modes such as stop operation,homing operation,preset operation,clear fault and spare home movement.

Mixed motion:allows complex motion profiles consisting of 2 to 32 segments and stored in the module’s memory for multiple executions.

Origin search:automatically resets the absolute position to the origin when an encoder mark,limit switch or both are detected,also known as a homing operation.

Configuration and installation

Configuration mode:In configuration mode,you can use M files to access the module’s parameters and define operations without setting switches and dedicated software.If you do not set the configuration yourself,the configuration will be set to the default settings.

Installation recommendations:It is recommended that the 1746-HSRV servo module be installed in slot 0 or the lowest numbered slot of the SLC 500 rack to be as close to the processor as possible.In addition,for connection to a servo control motor system,the module is ideal for use with a 1746-HT termination panel and connected using a 1746-HC cable.
