It has a 32-bit data bus and implements Ethernet communication functions by directly accessing the main memory. This module does not contain a battery and requires software version V7.1SP2a or higher to operate properly.

Function & Features

  • The ABB EI813F Ethernet module is based on the 10BaseT standard and is connected to the network via a shielded twisted pair cable (e.g. Category 3, 4 or 5 high-grade cable). The module is connected to the network cable via an RJ-45 female connector (shielded).
  • The ABB EI813F has a 32-bit data bus and uses direct memory access to the main memory. This allows the module to access the main memory directly without frequent CPU intervention. The CPU overhead is less than 4% during operation.
  • When the EI813F Ethernet module successfully establishes a connection with the network, the yellow LED lights up, indicating that the physical link is normal. The green LED indicates that communication activity is ongoing. The green LED flashes when data is sent or received on the Ethernet.
