Foxboro FBM232 Distributed INTERBUS Network Module

FOXBORO ‘s FBM232 P0926GWserver AX-OPC-Server is used for data exchange between distributed INTERBUS networks or PROFINET networks and applications. Using OPC technology and INTERBUS/PROFINET technology, automation standard data interfaces are provided, and there is no need for dedicated software to connect control software and applications. The OPC server provides control system process data and intermediate variables for read and write access of PC applications (such as SCADA/MES systems).

The enhanced version of FBM232 Server will support redundant PLCs, which means that the data points of the application are presented in a transparent manner, without worrying about which PLC the data comes from. Therefore, for FBM232  systems, there is no need for dedicated redundant drivers or additional configurations on the client side.

In the OPC Configuration, simply configure the IP address of the Primary PLC, and the OPC Server will automatically calculate the IP address of the Backup PLC. OPC Server will use two resources internally, each resource will obtain the required data from its corresponding PLC. The OPC Server identifies which PLC is in the Primary state by calculating the status information of two FBM232  , and the data of that PLC will be provided to the upper SCADA software. Writing data is only valid for the Primary PLC and is transmitted to the Backup PLC through data synchronization.
