Product Description

ABB RER103 Bus Connection Module is an interface unit between the RE_500 device and the fiber optic SPA, LON® and IEC 60870-5-103 buses. It converts the incoming optical signals from the SPA, LON® and IEC_103 buses to electrical RS-485 signals for the RE_500 device and vice versa.

The module plugs into the RS-485 D-sub miniature connector on the rear panel of the RE_500 device, is powered by the RE_500 device's D-sub connector, and can be used with any RE_500 device equipped with a 9-pin D-sub connector.

Function & Features

  • Topology: ABB RER103 supports two bus topologies: loop and star, which can be selected by jumpers.
  • Idle state selection: ABB RER103 sets the fiber idle state to light on or off by jumpers
  • Collision detection: Collision detection is supported during LON® bus communication.
  • Service pin: ABB RER103 is used to connect Neuron® chips and supports LON® node configuration.

Product Description
