Product Description

ABB AO820/AO820-EA 3BSE008546R1 is an analog output module with 4 bipolar analog output channels. Each channel can be configured as a current output or a voltage output, with separate voltage and current output terminal groups. It is up to the user to correctly connect the output lines, and the difference in current and voltage channel configuration is only reflected in the software settings. The module also monitors communication with the A/D converter, reads back and verifies the output data, and continuously reads open circuit diagnostic information. When the process voltage disappears, the process voltage monitoring input will give a channel error signal, and this error signal can be read through the module bus.

Function & Features

  • AO820 has 4 bipolar analog output channels, each of which can be independently configured as current output (such as - 20 mA...+20 mA, 0...20 mA, 4...20 mA) or voltage output (such as - 10 V...+10 V, 0...10 V, 2...10 V)
  • AO820 continuously monitors the open circuit condition. When the process voltage abnormality disappears, it can promptly give a channel error signal through the process voltage monitoring input, and the error signal can be obtained through the module bus.
  • When an error is detected, OSP (which may be some kind of fail-safe mechanism) will set the output to a predetermined state to avoid damage to the connected equipment or system due to output abnormality caused by a fault.
