Product Description
ABB 07KP93 (GJR5253200R1161) communication processor is an interface module for the ABB Advant Controller 31 control system. It is a MODBUS communication processor with two serial MODBUS RTU interfaces, enabling external units to connect to the Advant Controller 31 system via the MODBUS RTU protocol.
Note: This module is a snap-on connection. All power supplies must be cut off when connecting or disconnecting any module on the network interface.
Function & Features
- Dual Serial Interfaces: The ABB 07KP93 (GJR5253200R1161) provides two independent serial communication ports: COM3 and COM4. Each port can be configured to comply with either the EIA RS-232 or EIA RS-485 standards.
- MODBUS Operation Mode: COM3 and COM4 can be configured in various master/slave modes, but dual-master mode is not supported. This allows it to function as a master to poll slave devices connected to the other port, while also allowing it to be accessed as a slave by an external master (such as a SCADA system).
- Connecting to the AC 31 System: The ABB 07KP93 (GJR5253200R1161) connects directly to the rear of the AC 31 base unit via a ribbon cable and socket connector. Data exchange with the controller CPU is performed at the programming level via dedicated function blocks and connection elements. This requires the use of appropriate programming software (e.g. 907 KP 93).
