Product Description

ABB SPAJ140C-CA overcurrent and fault relay is mainly used for selective short circuit and ground fault protection of radial feeders in solid, resistance or impedance grounded power systems. It is a secondary relay connected to the current transformer of the protected object, detects faults by monitoring phase and neutral currents, and starts, trips circuit breakers, initiates automatic reclosing, sounds alarms, and records fault data according to the configured functions. The relay can also be used in other application scenarios that require single-phase, two-phase or three-phase overcurrent protection and non-directional ground fault protection, and has circuit breaker failure protection function.

Fuctions & Features

  • Overcurrent protection functions:
  1. Three-phase low-set phase overcurrent units with definite time or inverse minimum time (IDMT) characteristics.
  2. Three-phase high-set phase overcurrent units with instantaneous or definite time functions.
  • Ground fault protection functions:
  1. Low-set, non-directional ground fault units with definite time or inverse minimum time (IDMT) characteristics.
  2. High-set, non-directional ground fault units with instantaneous or definite time functions.
  • Various inverse time curves: When the IDMT characteristic is selected, there are six time/current curves to choose from for the low-set stage of the overcurrent unit and ground fault unit.
