Product Description
Foxboro FBM224 Modbus communication module is a Modbus slave device that can be used to interface Modbus slave devices with the control processor of the Foxboro Evo™ process automation system and I/A Series® system. It is equipped with 4 ports, each of which can be individually configured as RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 mode, allowing a single FBM224 to adapt to various communication interface standards commonly used in Modbus networks.
Function & Features
- Multi-port configuration: FBM224 has 4 independent ports, each port can be individually configured as RS-232/RS-422/RS-485, ports 1-2 or 3-4 can be combined into a logical redundant port, connecting dual-port Modbus devices via dual cables.
- Master/Slave Mode: FBM224 acts as a master station and actively polls slave devices (user-configurable polling frequency).
- Wiring via Termination Assembly (TA): FBM224 supports direct connection devices, modems (RS-232), and RS-232 to RS-422/485 converters. DIP switches are provided to configure termination resistors (RS-422/485) or custom RS-232 signals (such as CTS/RTS).
