Allen-Bradley 1734-IB8S Point I/O 8-Point Combination Module is an 8-point combination module designed for standard POINT I/O systems and is a POINT Guard I/O module.

It can communicate with the CIP Safety protocol (for GuardLogix safety controllers) and DeviceNet (for SmartGuard600 safety controllers) via Ethernet/IP. It can transmit safety and automation control data and diagnostic information simultaneously in a CIP network. It is suitable for applications with high I/O density requirements and limited panel space, especially for robots, operation points, protection monitoring and distributed control in industrial equipment.

Fuctions & Features

  • Allen-Bradley 1734-IB8S can interface with safety devices such as emergency stop buttons, door switches, and safety light curtains.
  • Allen-Bradley 1734-IB8S has a dual-channel mode that evaluates consistency between two input signals (channels) and can be used in Safety Category 3 and 4 applications to PLe/SIL CL3 when the Point Mode Configuration of both channels is set to Safety Pulse Test.
  • The single-channel mode evaluates one input signal (channel) and can be used in Safety Category 2 applications to PLd/SIL CL2 when the Point Mode Configuration of the channel is set to Safety Pulse Test.
  • Allen-Bradley 1734-IB8S can configure the discrepancy time to control the amount of time a discrepancy is allowed between the two channels before declaring a fault.
  • When the input is used with the test output, the Allen-Bradley 1734-IB8S can perform an external wiring short circuit check.
  • Allen-Bradley 1734-IB8S has independently adjustable turn-on and turn-off delays for each channel.
  • Allen-Bradley 1734-IB8S provides a separate test output for short-circuit detection of safety inputs.
