Product Description
Allen-Bradley MVI56-MCM Modbus Master/Slave Communication Module is a communication module developed by ProSoft Technology and licensed as an official backplane technology from Rockwell Automation.
This module acts as a protocol conversion gateway between a ControlLogix processor and a Modbus network. All configuration for the MVI56-MCM module is defined in sample ladder logic, which is fully commented and includes user-defined data types, ladder rungs, and controller tags.
Function & Features
- The MVI56-MCM installs as a generic 1756 module in RSLogix 5000 and is configured using the provided sample ladder logic. Module data and operating status can be viewed directly in RSLogix™ 5000 controller tags.
- In addition to standard coils, discrete values, input registers, and holding registers, the MVI56-MCM also supports floating-point data transmission.
- All MVI56-MCM module parameter configuration is completed using the fully commented sample ladder program, which can generally be used without modification.
