Product Description

FBM214 P0922VT is a HART® communication input module for Foxboro I/A Series® distributed control systems (DCS). It provides 8 input channels, each channel can receive a 4 to 20mA analog signal or a digital HART signal superimposed on the analog signal, Σ-Δ ADC conversion technology, does not support HART burst mode (only polling mode).

Required components

Software: Intelligent Field Device Configurator V5.1+ (including HART DD library)

Hardware: FTA-210 terminal assembly (for HART signal conditioning)

Restriction description

Maximum cable length: 1830m (AWG18 shielded twisted pair)

Multi-station mode is not supported (each HART device must be addressed independently)

Function & Features

  • Multi-protocol signal processing: FBM214 supports 8-channel 4-20mA analog signal and HART FSK digital signal mixed input simultaneously, and each channel has an independent FSK modem to achieve parallel communication (non-time-division multiplexing).
  • Communication hub: FBM214, as the HART field device host, establishes a two-way communication link between the I/A Series® system and the smart instrument, supports 2 data polling per second (500ms refresh cycle), and complies with the HART 5.0 specification.
  • Signal conversion: FBM214 uses a 24-bit Σ-Δ ADC chip, with an isolation of 1500Vrms (1 minute) between channels and a typical accuracy of ±0.05% of the range (including nonlinearity + temperature drift).
