The Honeywell 05701-A-0325 DC Input Card is supplied to the sub-rack through the DC Input Card from an external nominal 24V DC supply, which can be provided by the user. This power flows through the Engineering Card and the sub-rack backplane, distributing it to all cards within the rack. A fuse on the DC Input Card safeguards this power supply. Terminal block TB1, consisting of two parts, facilitates the removal of the card without disconnecting individual wires.
To prevent excessive current flow along the rack backplane when using more than eight 5704 Catalytic Cards, it is advisable to power the Control Cards via their respective Quad Relay Interface Cards, reserving the DC Input Card for powering the Engineering Card only. If necessary, a standby backup battery supply can also be connected to the auxiliary DC input connections.
The PSU and AUX connections are electrically isolated from each other by diodes. Furthermore, the DC Input Card offers RFI filtering and reverse polarity protection.
