ABB CI858 3BSE018135R1 Communication Interface For The DriveBus Protocol

ABB CI858 3BSE018135R1 is a communication interface module, mainly used to establish communication connection between ABB drives and AC 800M controllers. It is designed for segmented drive applications of ABB rolling mill drive systems and paper machine control systems. One CI858 can connect up to 24 ABB drives, and one AC 800M controller can connect up to two CI858s.

CI858 communicates with AC 800M via CEX bus, with a clock frequency of 64 MHz and a maximum data transmission rate of about 1.25 MBytes/s.

Function & Features

• Interface: CI858 has DDCS interface, including DriveBus interface, I/O bus interface and PC tool interface.

• Power supply and power conversion: CI858 is provided with + 24 V power supply by CEX bus, and can convert + 24 V power supply to + 5 V, + 3.3 V and + 2.5 V to power different components in the module.

• Equipped with FPGA: CI858 uses Xilinx XC2S50 FPGA for CEX bus interface, and 94 user I/O pins are provided on CI858.

• Storage configuration: CI858 is equipped with 32 kB AT27LV256 boot PROM for boot code, 1 MB Am29DL800B flash PROM for program code, and 768 kB SRAM as program and data memory.

• Dual-port RAM communication: Communication with AC 800M is via a dual-port RAM (DPRAM), the DPRAM is 32 * 16 kB, there is one interrupt in each direction, and there are eight semaphores to simplify shared resource utilization, and there is also an ONCE port that can be used for module reprogramming.
