ABB IMASI23 Analog Input Module
Product Description
ABB IMASI23 analog input module is a Harmony rack-mount I/O module that is part of the Symphony enterprise management and control system. It has 16 analog input channels that interface isolated thermocouples, millivolts, RTDs, and high-level analog signals to the controller with up to 24-bit analog-to-digital resolution. Each channel has an independent analog-to-digital converter that can be individually configured to handle the required input type. These analog inputs are used by the controller to monitor and control the process.
The IMASI23 module is a direct replacement for the IMASI03 or IMASI13 modules with only minor modifications. The difference in resolution selection requires a change to specification S11 in function code 216. Due to changes in power consumption, it may be necessary to revalidate power sizing calculations and system current requirements.

Fuctions & Features
- Independent Configuration: Input type and resolution for each channel can be independently selected, allowing different inputs to be mixed on a single IMASI23 module.
- Automatic Calibration Compensation: Offset, gain, and nonlinearity errors of the input circuitry are recorded during a one-time factory calibration process and used for error compensation during normal operation. The module automatically recalibrates during normal operation to compensate for component aging and temperature drift, without the need for user calibration.
- Automatic Engineering Unit Conversion: For all input signals of thermocouple or RTD type, engineering units are automatically converted to degrees Celsius or degrees Fahrenheit, using industry standard linearization tables to correct for nonlinearities when converting to temperature units.
- Voltage Input Scaling: For low-level and high-level voltage inputs, the analog input module scales the module output value to engineering units, the input type, zero point, and span values are specified in function code 216.
- Thermocouple Cold Junction Compensation: Thermocouple inputs feature cold junction compensation, with each terminal having a built-in cold junction reference, which can be either a built-in reference or a remote reference read from another input of this or another I/O module.
