Product Description

ABB NAIO-02 analog I/O expansion module is an analog I/O expansion device that provides additional analog input and output capabilities for related systems. It provides two bipolar current or voltage input signals and two unipolar current output signals with 12-bit signal resolution.

In bipolar mode, the analog inputs can handle both positive and negative polarity signals. The A/D converter has an 11-bit resolution (plus a sign bit). The drive's interpretation of the negative polarity input signal range depends on the drive parameter settings.

Function & Features

  • Hardware Switch Configuration: The NAIO-02 is equipped with multiple DIP switches for setting the node address (six DIP switches, with a default pre-assigned address of 5 and a maximum of 63), selecting the signal polarity mode (bipolar/unipolar, set via one DIP switch), and selecting the input signal type (four DIP switches).
  • Parameter Validation: Newly set parameters will only take effect the next time the NAIO-02 module is powered on. Please be aware of this when debugging and configuring parameters.
  • Inductive Load Protection: When connecting an external inductive load (such as a relay, contactor, or motor), a resistor-capacitor (RC) absorber or diode must be used to protect the relay contacts. The protective device must be connected on the load side.
