Product Description

FC-QPP-0002 is the second generation quad-core processor module (QPP-0002) of Honeywell Safety Manager. It is located in the controller chassis and is the core component of the safety manager, controlling all system operations. As the core processing unit of the controller, it provides safety control and is suitable for critical application scenarios of SIL3 (Safety Integrity Level 3).

When installed in a safety manager running R121 or higher firmware, QPP-0002 is backward compatible with QPP-0001 and can be used as a one-to-one spare part. Note: The QPP-0002 module can only be safely removed or replaced when the key switch is in the stop position. Non-redundant controllers contain one QPP-0002 module, and redundant controllers contain two.

Features of FC-QPP-0002

  • Dual processors and dual memory: The FC-QPP-0002 is equipped with two synchronized processors and two memory banks. The hardware data comparator compares each read and write operation of the processor and triggers the watchdog if a data difference is detected.

  • Multiple feature sets: The FC-QPP-0002 has flash memory for storing system and application programs, RAM with battery backup, data comparator, redundant communication links, data exchange with communication modules, etc.
  • High diagnostic coverage: Additional test hardware can fully test the QPP-0002 module to achieve a diagnostic coverage of more than 99%, allowing a single QPP-0002 module to run applications up to SIL3 level without time restrictions.
  • Signal Processing: Reads IO input signals, executes the controller files created by the user in the graphical Functional Logic Diagram (FLD), and transmits the results to the output interfaces. In a redundant controller configuration, two QPP-0002 modules synchronize their operations via a dedicated redundant communication link.
