Product Description
Foxboro FCP270 field control processor is a distributed, optionally fault-tolerant, field-mounted controller that performs regulatory, logic, timing and sequential control with connected fieldbus modules, as well as data acquisition, alarm detection and notification. The FCP270 connects to the MESH control network via standard 100 Mbps fiber-optic Ethernet.
The fault-tolerant version consists of two processor modules installed in adjacent slots of a supported FCP270 backplane to enable inter-module communication.

Function & Features
- Control and expansion: Foxboro FCP270 supports 32 200 Series FBMs, which can be increased to 128 with FEM100 expansion modules. Supports both 2 Mbps and 268 Kbps HDLC fieldbuses (via FBI200/FBI100).
- Network and communication: Foxboro FCP270 connects to the MESH control network via 100 Mbps fiber optic Ethernet.
- Patented fault-tolerant technology: Dual processor modules run synchronously in real time, send commands only when outputs are consistent, automatic fault detection and switching, and the secondary module continuously synchronizes the status of the primary module.
