Product Description

The 1753-IB8XOB8 digital I/O module is a distributed I/O module that is used with the GuardPLC controllers. It comes with up to 8 digital inputs, along with eight positive-switching digital outputs, two pulsed outputs, and two negative-switching digital outputs. This module runs on a 24 Volt DC operating voltage power. The 1753-IB8XOB8 is sensitive to electrostatic discharge, which can lead to internal damage and end up affecting its normal operation. To handle the module, the operator should touch some grounded object to discharge the static potential or put on an official wrist-strap device for grounding. Other measures that the operator should take include not touching the connectors or the pins on the component boards. A static-safe workstation can be used as well for safety.

The Allen-Bradley 1753-IB8XOB8 module features two 10/100 BaseT, RJ-45 connectors, which makes possible communications to the GuardPLC controller through the GuardPLC Ethernet. These connectors are placed at the bottom on the left side. The module and connectors are interlinked by internal Ethernet switches; these Ethernet switches are auto-detect. The shielded Ethernet cabling can be used as either straight-through or cross-over. Also available are a star or line configurations. The user should ensure that the Data packets only reach the node through a single path. This module comprises eight digital inputs with their statuses is indicated on the LED indicators. For devices that require operating voltage of 24 Volts DC, the same power source can be used as with the GuardPLC, with wired the outputs of the device directly to the inputs on the GuardPLC.
