Introduction to Eddy Current Sensor

The Eddy Current Sensor is a non-contact electromagnetic measurement device based on Faraday's electromagnetic induction principle. It detects changes in eddy currents induced in conductive materials to measure displacement, position, vibration, thickness and other parameters without physical contact with the target.

Core Working Principle

• Alternating magnetic field generation: High-frequency AC current (1kHz~2MHz) flows through the sensor coil, creating an alternating magnetic field
• Eddy current induction: When a conductive target approaches, eddy currents (Foucault currents) are induced on its surface
• Impedance change detection: The eddy currents generate a secondary magnetic field opposing the original, altering the sensor coil's impedance
