GE HYDRAN M2 is a compact,permanently installed online transformer monitoring device designed to provide critical monitoring information to detect potential problems early when a transformer fails and minimize the risk of unexpected power outages.The following is a detailed introduction to GE HYDRAN M2.
Main functions and features
Continuous monitoring
Real-time monitoring of fault gases(such as hydrogen,carbon monoxide,acetylene,ethylene,etc.)and moisture content dissolved in transformer oil.
A choice of traditional”composite gas”sensors or more basic”hydrogen only”sensors.
Alarm function
When abnormal levels of fault gas or moisture are detected,an alarm will be sounded.
Two alarm levels(alarm and alarm)can be set to show increasing severity.
Data communication and integration
A variety of communication options and protocols are available to simplify integration with SCADA(supervisory control and data acquisition)or DCS(distributed control system).
Supports new low-flammability ester oils and mineral transformer insulating oils.
Transformer mathematical model

Easy to install and maintain
Easy to permanently install on a single transformer oil valve,no additional piping or pumps are required.
Automatic self-test every 15 days,triggering a service alarm if a fault is detected(such as power failure,oil valve closure,sensor failure).
Humidity monitoring
Humidity sensors measure moisture in the oil,helping to detect problems such as insulation paper degradation or gasket leakage.
