The ABB TU850 is an Extended Module Termination Unit (MTU) designed for use with the S800 I/O systems. It manages up to 16 input/output (I/O) channels, facilitating the connection of sensors and transmitters to the control system.

- Connectors: The unit features 2 sets of 8 signal terminals and 2 sets of 8 disconnectable current-limited sensor/transmitter power outlet terminals.
- Voltage and Current Ratings: It supports a maximum voltage of 50V and handles up to 15mA per I/O channel for digital inputs. For analog inputs, it manages 25mA per two I/O channels.
- ModuleBus Distribution: The unit distributes the ModuleBus signal to connected I/O modules and additional MTUs.
- Address Generation: It automatically assigns addresses to connected I/O modules by shifting outgoing position signals.
- Mounting: Designed for DIN rail mounting, the unit features a secure latching mechanism.
- Configuration: It uses a mechanical keying system to prevent incorrect I/O module installation and offers 36 configuration options.
- Safety: Includes current limitation with disconnectable PTC fuses for protecting sensor/transmitter power supplies.
