Product Description

GE IC660BSM021 is a bus switch module (BSM) for the Genius I/O system. It's available in a 24/48 VDC power supply version (a 115 VAC/125 VDC version, the IC660BSM120, is also available).

The IC660BSM021 connects I/O devices to dual redundant serial buses, providing redundant communication paths. A single BSM can connect up to eight I/O modules, and multiple BSMs can be used to expand the number of modules to 30, all sharing the same dual bus.

Function & Features

  • Bus Connection: A single IC660BSM021 module can connect up to eight discrete and analog modules to a dual bus. By adding more BSMs, up to 30 I/O modules can be connected to the same dual bus.
  • Dual Bus Redundancy: The IC660BSM021 supports two independent Genius serial buses (Bus A/B). The module defaults to Bus A. If Bus A communication is interrupted, it automatically or manually switches to Bus B.
  • Switchover Control Mechanism: The IC660BSM021 is controlled by the Phase B discrete module in the cluster. Its first circuit acts as a dedicated output on the BSM, triggering a bus switchover if communication on the current bus is interrupted.
