CI856K01 is a communication interface module between ABB AC800M controller and S100 I/O system, which is part of ABB Industrial IT 800xA or Advant Controller 800M system. It is installed through Baseplate TP856 to realize data exchange between AC800M and S100 I/O modules, suitable for industrial automation and process control applications. The interface mainly consists of two parts,The following is a detailed description of the CI856K01 interface.
CI856 communication interface
Powered by the processor unit through the CEX bus, no additional external power supply is required.
It supports hot swapping, which has the advantage of reusing most existing I/O installations (such as terminals and field wiring in existing ABB Master and Advant OCS installations).
It uses a 9-pin Sub_D connector, supports the Profibus DP protocol, and has 4000V lightning protection, 1.5A overcurrent and 600W surge protection.
TP856 base plate
It is equipped with a ribbon connector and can be connected to the bus expansion board in the S100 I/O rack, providing DIN rail mounting. A CI856 can connect to up to 5 S100 I/O racks, and each I/O rack can accommodate up to 20 I/O boards.
