Product Description

ABB IMDSM04 is a pulse input slave module (DSM) for the INFI 90® process management system. It is used to connect 8-channel field pulse signals to the system for the master module (such as the MFP multi-function processor) to perform process monitoring and control. Its core functions include signal conditioning, conversion and digital processing, supporting a variety of pulse types (such as low-amplitude pulses, sine waves, logic levels, dry contacts, etc.), and can be applied to flow monitoring, speed measurement, energy metering, event counting and other application scenarios.

Fuctions & Features

  • Multi-mode operation:
  1. Accumulation mode: counts the number of pulse edges (such as flow meter counting).
  2. Frequency mode: measures the frequency of the input signal (such as speed monitoring).
  3. Period mode: calculates the pulse time interval (such as timing analysis).
  • High resolution: 16-bit accuracy, supports frequency measurement up to 50 kHz. Low-frequency signal period measurement range 20 μs ~ 655×10³ seconds.
  • Channel 1&2 dedicated: ABB IMDSM04 supports low-amplitude signals of 50 mV~10 V (peak-to-peak) (preamplifier required).
  • Selectable trigger edge: ABB IMDSM04 supports rising or falling edge triggering.
  • Adjustable response time: ABB IMDSM04 selects fast/slow response through jumpers to meet the de-jittering requirements of field equipment.
