Allen-Bradley 1771-A1B 4 Slots Universal Input/Output Chassis is an I/O rack and chassis assembly that is part of the Allen - Bradley PLC-5 series. It is the heart of the Allen - Bradley PLC - 5 programmable controller system and provides a communication path between the various I/O modules and the controller or I/O adapter modules.1771-A1B also provides system protection and troubleshooting assistance. The AC I/O module contains optoelectronic isolation and filtering circuits, and the module indicator light can display the input or output status for easy troubleshooting.

• Module installation: Allen-Bradley 1771-A1B has 4 slots, the leftmost slot is reserved for the processor or adapter module, and the other slots are compatible with communication modules, I/O modules, and power modules. Power modules such as 1771 - P1, -P2, -P7, and - PS7 can be installed on the left side panel.

• Power supply method: Allen-Bradley 1771-A1B can be powered by a processor with an integrated power supply (providing 2 to 4 amps of current), a power supply module providing 3 to 8 amps of current, and an external power supply providing 6.5 to 16 amps of current.

• Power supply configuration: Allen-Bradley 1771-A1B is configured for power supply through a configuration jumper. The jumper has two positions, the "N" position is for an external power supply, and the "Y" position is for a power supply module or processor with an integrated power supply. The power supply module and the external power supply cannot be used at the same time.
