General Electric IC694CHS392 Serial Expansion Backplane

The GE IC694CHS392 is a 10-slot serial expansion backplane for the PACSystems RX3i series. It accommodates 10 I/O slots and offers a maximum expansion distance of 50 feet (15 meters).

This backplane can be combined with other RX3i serial expansion backplanes and Series 90-30 expansion/remote backplanes, for a total of seven such backplanes in the system. As a variant of the RX3i serial expansion backplane (the other being the 5-slot IC694CHS398), it requires a specific serial expansion power supply module installed in the leftmost slot.

• The leftmost slot of the IC694CHS392 must be installed with a serial expansion power module. Available models include the IC694PWR321 (120/240VAC, 125VDC), IC694PWR330 (120/240VAC, 125VDC, high capacity), and IC694PWR331 (24VDC, high capacity).

• The right side of the IC694CHS392 features a bus expansion connector for connecting an optional expansion cable. The maximum connection distance to the universal backplane is 50 feet (15 meters).

• The first slot from the left of the IC694CHS392 must be installed with the specified power module; otherwise, the system will not operate. Extensions exceeding 50 feet may result in signal degradation and require the addition of a repeater.
