Product Description
ICS Triplex T8151B Communication Interface, a Trusted® Communication Interface (CI) model T8151B (previously known as T8151), is an intelligent module designed to provide various communication services for Truster controllers, reducing the communication load on triple modular redundant (TMR) processors.
A Truster system supports up to four of these communication interfaces, acting as relays between processors, other Truster systems, engineering workstations, and third-party devices.
Function & Features
- Processor and Storage: The T8151B is equipped with a Motorola Power PC processor; the bootloader is stored in erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM), and the operating firmware is stored in flash memory, which can be upgraded through the front panel port.
- Operating System: The T8151B shares the Truster operating system with the TMR processor. Its core is a high-speed kernel that provides basic services such as memory management.
- Monitoring and Protection: The T8151B is equipped with a modular watchdog to monitor processor operation and power supply unit (PSU) output voltage. Dual redundant power inputs are provided by the chassis backplane, and the onboard power supply unit provides voltage conversion and power regulation.
