ABB IMFEC12 advanced analog input (FEC) module is an analog signal input module designed for multi-function processor (MFP) or multi-function controller (MFC) modules.

The module exists in the form of a single printed circuit board, installed in a slot of the module mounting unit (MMU), and fixed by two fixed latches on the panel. It has three card edge connectors for external signals (connecting transmitter input and communication), system communication (connecting I/O expansion bus) and power input.

The input of the module is connected to the terminal unit (TU) or terminal module (TM) through a cable, and the wiring of the field device is connected to the terminal block.

Fuctions & Features

  • Signal Processing: Processes 15 channels of analog signals for delivery to a Multi-Function Processor (MFP) or Multi-Function Controller (MFC).
  • Intelligent Functionality: The FEC module is equipped with an onboard microprocessor, memory, analog-to-digital converter, and communication circuitry, making it an intelligent, stand-alone module. It is designed as a single printed circuit board that occupies one slot in the Module Mounting Unit (MMU) and is secured by two retaining latches on the panel.
  • Power: For electrical inputs. Inputs are connected to the Terminal Unit (TU) or Terminal Module (TM) via cables, and wiring from field devices is connected to terminal blocks.
  • System Design: A wide range of devices, including Bailey-Fischer & Porter FSK digital smart transmitters, conventional transmitters, and standard voltage/current inputs.
  • FSK Digital Capability: Eliminates conversion errors, improving accuracy and process control.
