Product Description

The 1753-IF8XOF4 is an Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation GuardPLC analog I/O module. This industrial-grade module is designed with both efficiency and safety in mind. The GuardPLC I/O module from Allen-Bradley fulfills all of the safety requirements through its safety functions/safety loop. The 1753-IF8XOF4 module is tested in accordance with the IEC 61508 standards and based on a 10-year functional verification test, its probability of failure on demand (PFD) value is 8.575442E-05 and its probability of failure per hour (PFH) value is 5.159597E-09. Besides that, the GuardPLC module has a mean time to failure (MTTF) value of 35.01 years and a mean time to dangerous failure (MTTDF) value of 117.75 years. Its safe failure fraction is at a stunning 99.776%.

According to safety requirements, the 1753-IF8XOF4 GuardPLC systems can have product-independent and product-dependent hardware configurations. As far as the product-dependent configurations, it is mandatory to connect only safely-isolated equipment featuring 24 Volts DC power supply. The users must connect the equipment to power sources which comply with PELV (Protective Extra Low Voltage) or SELV (Safety-separated Extra Low Voltage). Even though the 1753-IF8XOF4 module has an excellent reaction time, the cycle time of a system must be taken into consideration. The system’s cycle time include factors such as reading local inputs, writing local outputs, testing routines, communication means, and processing. According to specification, the GuardPLC’s maximum reaction time, when all conditions are met, is double the time of the cycle time of the system. If THE I/O module is used in safety applications, the minimum requirements that should be met are an IEC/EN 61131-2 Protection Class II standard, an altitude less than 2000 meters, the pollution degree II level of pollution, and an IP20 enclosure for standard applications.
