GE IC693CMM321 Ethernet Interface Module is a network interface device for Series 90-30 PLCs that connects the PLC to an Ethernet LAN via an external transceiver and AAUI cable.

The module has client/server functionality, actively communicating with other PLCs with Ethernet interfaces via COMMREQ function blocks in ladder programs when acting as a client, and responding only to requests from other devices (such as a host computer running the Host Communication Toolkit application or another Series 90-30 PLC acting as a client) when acting as a server.

• Client/Server Dual Mode:

Client Mode: IC693CMM321 actively initiates data transmission with other Ethernet interface PLCs (via COMMREQ function block).

Server Mode: IC693CMM321 responds to requests from the host computer or other client PLCs, supporting data reception and interaction.

• Network Interface:

AAUI port (requires external SQE-enabled transceiver, such as IC649AEA102/103), supports 10Base-T or 10Base-2 network (via adapter).

• Debug and Maintenance Interface:

RS-232 station management port (RJ-11, connected to terminal configuration module), RS-485 firmware upgrade port (15-pin D-type port, requires IC690ACC901 converter).
