General Electric IS220YSILS1B Core Safety Protection Module

GE IS220YSILS1B is a core safety I/O module in the Mark Vie series. It forms part of the highest-level safety chain in a turbine control system, specifically responsible for implementing safety functions such as emergency shutdown (ESD) and overspeed protection (OSP). As the logic solver in the safety instrumented system, it processes all safety-related input signals and generates output actions based on pre-programmed safety logic.

Function & Features

• Hardware Combinations: The IS220YSILS1B can be used with the IS200TCSAS1A (core protection terminal board), IS200WCSAS1A (daughter board), IS200SCSAS1A (I/O expansion board), and IS40YSSUPS1A (buffer board).

• Signal Processing: The IS220YSILS1B can scale and condition a variety of analog signals, including LVDT inputs, servo valve outputs, vibration inputs, relay driver outputs, pulse inputs, and generator and line signals.

• Communication Interface: The IS220YSILS1B connects to the STCA, TCQA, and TCQE boards in the core via a 3PL connector, transmitting conditioned signals to the COREBUS. It also connects to the TCQC board via a JE connector.
