Product Description

Bently Nevada 3300/20 Dual Thrust Position Monitor is a device that protects the axial thrust bearings of rotating machinery. It measures the precise position of the shaft or thrust disc within its axial clearance range using two independent eddy current sensor channels. Ideally, the sensors should be mounted directly aligned with the thrust disc to directly reflect changes in the thrust disc's position relative to the bearing clearance. When the axial thrust becomes excessive, causing the shaft position to exceed safe limits, the monitor will issue an alarm, prompting operator intervention.

Function & Features

  • Dual Redundancy Measurement Channels: The 3300/20 monitor is equipped with two completely independent input channels, allowing connection to two independent probes to measure the same thrust disc.
  • Logical Voting Mechanism: The 3300/20 uses a dual-voting mode. In this mode, both channels must simultaneously reach or exceed their alarm settings for the monitor's alarm relay to activate.
  • Avoiding Missed Alarms: In the event of a real machine fault, both probes will simultaneously detect abnormal axial displacement. Although the 3300/20 monitor can also be set to single-voting mode, its use is strongly discouraged in thrust monitoring applications.
